About University City
University City is the easternmost part of West Philadelphia, directly across the Schuylkill River from Center City. The University of Pennsylvania helped coin the name in the 1950s. Penn and Drexel share the eastern side with several medical institutions, research centers, Cira Centre, and 30th Street Station, one of the nation's busiest passenger train stations.
